SGTU hosts vibrant ‘Mango Fest 2026’, Showcases Over 100 Mango Varieties
Mango-based delicacies, live demonstrations, and exciting competitions steal the show


Gurugram, 9 July : The Faculty of Agricultural Sciences at SGT University successfully organized Mango Festival 2026, celebrating the “King of Fruits” through a vibrant blend of agriculture, culture, innovation, and community engagement.
The festival was jointly organized through the dedicated efforts of Dr. Rajesh Mor, Dr. Ompal Khola, Dr. Rajendra Kumar Yadav, along with the faculty members and students of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences. The event was held under the guidance of Dr. Pooja Pant, Dean, Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, SGT University.
The Chief Guest for the occasion was Mr. Rami Qtaishat, Diplomat from Sudan and Assistant Secretary General of the African-Asian Rural Development Organization (AARDO). Addressing the gathering, he emphasized the importance of agricultural development, rural prosperity, and preserving agricultural heritage. He appreciated such initiatives for promoting agricultural awareness, innovation, and sustainable development.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Pooja Pant, Dean, Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, said that the objective of the Mango Festival is to connect students with agricultural diversity, horticultural crops, and emerging agricultural innovations. She congratulated the faculty members, students, and the entire organizing team for making the event a grand success.
The highlight of the festival was an exhibition featuring more than 100 varieties of mangoes, offering visitors an opportunity to explore the rich diversity of India’s favourite fruit. The event also featured a wide range of mango-based delicacies, live culinary demonstrations, and engaging competitions, including the Mango Eating Challenge, Mango Quiz, Poster Making, Reel Making, Treasure Hunt, and Fireless Cooking, in which students participated with great enthusiasm.
Dr. Manjeet Panwar, Assistant Professor, Department of Agricultural Extension and Coordinator of the event, stated that the festival aimed to raise awareness about mango diversity, horticultural development, and the vital role of agriculture in society.
The occasion also acknowledged the valuable support and contributions of the University management, faculty members of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, students, the Department of Student Welfare, the School of Hotel Management, non-teaching staff, and volunteers, whose collective efforts ensured the successful organization of the festival.
