Six-Day Student Induction Programme ‘Deeksharambh-2026’ Begins at SGTU
Campus brims with enthusiasm, excitement, curiosity and the spirit to reach for the skies

Gurugram: The youthful energy of a new beginning, excitement about entering a new institution, curiosity about new classes and classmates, and the determination to overcome challenges and reach for the skies were clearly visible at SGT University on Monday as the university’s annual student induction programme, ‘Deeksharambh-2026’, commenced.
Organised by various departments and faculties of the university, including the School of Emerging Media, Communication and Film Studies (SMCF), the six-day programme will continue until August 22.
The programme is designed to help newly admitted students become familiar with the university’s academic environment and campus life. As part of the initiative, students are being introduced to their academic programmes, the university’s academic systems, student support services, co-curricular activities, facilities and various opportunities available on campus.
The first day featured an administrative orientation along with personality development and motivational activities. Representatives from the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), ACIC, Directorate of Student Welfare (DSW), Career and Placement Cell, and International Relations Division briefed students about their respective departments and the facilities, resources and support available to them.
Representatives from the Proctor’s Office, Women’s Studies Centre, Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) and Environmental Committee also addressed the students. They highlighted various initiatives related to campus safety, an inclusive environment and environmental protection. Students were also introduced to the NCC, university sports facilities and SGT University’s rich institutional traditions, helping them connect with campus life beyond academics.
A major highlight of the first day was the interactive session ‘Know Yourself’. The session encouraged students to reflect on their personal goals, abilities, interests and aspirations as they embarked on a new journey in higher education.
Over the next five days of ‘Deeksharambh-2026’, the programme will feature departmental special sessions, interactions with faculty members, industry experts and alumni, as well as a range of practical workshops. These activities will provide students with the knowledge, skills and guidance required to successfully pursue their academic journey at SMCF and other relevant departments.
