Grand Opening of All India Thal Sainik Camp-2026
1,564 Cadets from Across the Country to Showcase Military Skills and Stamina
Delhi Cantt. The prestigious All India Thal Sainik Camp (AITSC)-2026, organised under the aegis of 5 Haryana Battalion NCC, Gurugram, and NCC Group Headquarters, Rohtak, commenced with great enthusiasm at Delhi Cantt. The 12-day national-level camp and competition, being held from August 31 to September 11, will witness the participation of 1,564 cadets from various states and NCC Directorates across the country, who will showcase their military skills, physical prowess and talent.
The competition features 884 Senior Division cadets and 680 female Senior Wing cadets. A range of military and skill-based competitions will be organised as part of this prestigious national-level event.
Cadets arriving at Delhi Cantt from different parts of the country were warmly welcomed at the camp. Brimming with enthusiasm and determination, the cadets appeared highly motivated to put up their best performance.
Under the guidance of Director General NCC, Lieutenant General Virendra Vats, YSM, SM, VSM, and other senior officers, training, discipline, security and administrative arrangements at the camp are being managed in a systematic and efficient manner.
Brigadier Tarun Narula, along with several other officers, is playing a key role in overseeing the arrangements for the camp. Brigadier Ram Naresh, Officer-in-Charge of the Thal Sainik Competition and Group Commander, NCC Group Headquarters, Rohtak, is guiding various activities of the camp.
Special Arrangements for Women Cadets
Special arrangements have been made for the female cadets of the Senior Wing. Proper facilities for accommodation, food, drinking water and other essential requirements have been ensured. Medical and healthcare facilities have also been made available within the camp premises.
For the smooth conduct of the camp, different officers and training staff have been entrusted with responsibilities related to administration, security, training and the conduct of various competitions.
From Map Reading to Firing, Cadets to Showcase Their Skills
During the All India Thal Sainik Camp, cadets will participate in several challenging military and skill-based competitions. These include line-area-related competitions, map reading, military training activities, firing and shooting, tent pitching, banner competition, as well as various individual and team-based military skill competitions.
The competitions will assess the cadets’ physical fitness, mental resilience, leadership qualities, discipline and team spirit.
Brigadier Ram Naresh said that the All India Thal Sainik Camp is among the most prestigious training and competition events for NCC cadets in the country. Such camps strengthen the spirit of patriotism, discipline, leadership, self-confidence and a sense of responsibility among young people.
He said that cadets coming from different states and NCC Directorates get an opportunity to understand one another’s culture, language and working styles. This also strengthens the spirit of national integration and ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’.
The 12-day national camp will play an important role in the overall development of the cadets and inspire them to take up leadership roles in the future, including in the Indian Armed Forces and various other fields. During the camp, the cadets will demonstrate their talent, discipline, physical fitness and military skills.
