Bahadurgarh.The Matru Shakti Samman 2026 event held at Mehar Resort witnessed a powerful convergence of women empowerment, maternal respect, and social recognition, with Dr. Rajshri Singh, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Jhajjar, presiding as the Chief Guest. The grand event, curated by Jacqueline Jindal and powered by HL City, brought together distinguished women from various fields, including police officers, educators, medical professionals, social workers, and sports personalities, to celebrate motherhood and women’s contributions to society.

Born in 1966, Dr. Singh was a gymnastics champion for six years during her school days and captained her team. After completing her graduation in medical sciences (BAMS from MD University, Rohtak), she cleared the Haryana Police Services exam in her first attempt in 1990 at just 24 years of age. She was inducted into the IPS in 1999 and has since served in various capacities, including Commandant of 1st IRB, SP Narnaul, SSP Sirsa, SSP/Crime, DIG/Crime, and Joint CP Faridabad. She currently holds dual charges as IG/Crime and IG/Traffic & Highways in Haryana.

Message to Young Girls: Hard Work is the Key

When asked to share a message with young girls aspiring to break barriers, Dr. Singh’s response was direct and powerful: “Hard work is the only way to achieve success in life.” She elaborated that while talent and opportunity matter, sustained effort and dedication remain the unchanging formula for achievement, regardless of one’s field or background.

Legacy of Service

Dr. Singh’s distinguished career includes receiving the President’s Police Medal for Meritorious Services in 2012. Her initiatives have left lasting impacts: she founded the Road Safety Organisation with 4,500 volunteers, conducted jungle warfare training for police battalions, successfully managed election duties in Naxal-affected areas, and investigated high-profile sensitive cases, including the Murthal incident. Her educational qualifications span BAMS, LLB, LLM, and a PG Diploma in Human Rights, Humanitarian and Refugee Laws.
