Kala Chaitanya Society to Organise Yuva Nritya Mahotsav on September 1

Artists from Uttarakhand, Punjab, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh to Present a Vibrant

New Delhi: Working towards the preservation, promotion and dissemination of Indian art and culture, Kala Chaitanya Society has been successfully organising cultural programmes, workshops and various art-related activities across different states of the country for several years.

Taking this mission forward, the society will organise the ‘Yuva Nritya Mahotsav’ (Youth Dance Festival) on September 1 at the prestigious Stein Auditorium, India Habitat Centre, Lodhi Road, New Delhi, at 7:00 pm. Renowned Kathak exponent, Padma Shri and Sangeet Natak Akademi Award recipient Vidushi Shobhana Narayan, a former IRS officer, will grace the occasion as the Chief Guest.

The founder and president of the organisation, Vishwadeep, is a prominent name in the world of Kathak. As an artist, teacher, researcher and cultural administrator, he has represented Indian culture in several countries, including Algeria, Spain, Paris, London, Turkey, Brunei, Belarus, Mauritius, China and Dubai. He has also delivered acclaimed performances at several prestigious cultural events in India, including the Khajuraho Dance Festival.

Vishwadeep believes that an artist’s responsibility should not be confined to performing on stage. According to him, artists also have a responsibility to foster a positive outlook in society and empower the younger generation through the medium of art.

The society’s secretary, Pradeep Kumar Pathak, served as a Tabla Guru at the National Institute of Kathak Kendra for seven years. He has provided music direction for several dance-drama productions and has also made a notable contribution to the field of literary writing.

The event will be attended by Vidushi Shobhana Narayan, retired IRS officer, Padma Shri and Sangeet Natak Akademi Award recipient and eminent Kathak exponent; Bhuvnesh Singhal, social worker and BJP leader; Ashok Tiwari, senior office-bearer of Sanskar Bharati; and Devesh Shukla, former Public Relations Officer to the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand. The programme will be hosted by Kuldeep Sharma.

The festival will open with a duet performance by Aanchal Sharma and Aastha Gupta. This will be followed by a performance by Atul Kumar and Dhriti Sharma. The third presentation will feature Richa Baluni and Tarushi Rajora, while the festival will conclude with a duet performance by Suraj Kumar and Ruchika Bagga.

Artists from Uttarakhand, Punjab, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh will come together on a single platform to showcase their talent, creating a vibrant and colourful celebration of India’s rich artistic and cultural traditions.
