New Delhi: \u201cThis is the time for Hindus to awaken, remain alert and vigilant, and unite. It is time to recognise the looming threats to their existence, identity and dignity. If they fail to wake up now, the glory of Hindutva may slip away like sand through their fingers and be reduced to dust. Love Jihad is on the rise, while the number of churches and madrasas is increasing rapidly.\u201d<\/p>\n
This was the central message of an emphatic address delivered by Dr. Sunil Vishwanath Deodhar, former National Secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), at the 79th seminar of Chetna (Surabhi Sanatan Ki), an organisation committed to promoting Hindutva and Indian social and cultural values. He was addressing the gathering as the keynote speaker on the theme \u2018Diwali: A War Against Darkness\u2019.<\/p>\n
For nearly two hours, Dr. Deodhar held the audience spellbound with a continuous and forceful presentation, putting forward arguments based on what he described as the harsh realities confronting Hindu society. He repeatedly drew attention to the concerns surrounding Hindutva and urged the audience to reflect seriously on them.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have to fight darkness. First, identify what this darkness is, understand how to fight it and determine which weapons are needed for the battle. More importantly, do you know how to use these weapons?\u201d he asked.<\/p>\n
Dr. Deodhar observed that fragmented thinking had divided Hindu ideology into different groups and weakened collective consciousness. Describing Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, the founder of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), as a visionary with extraordinary foresight, he said that Hedgewar had anticipated the challenges Hindu society would face a century ago and had also suggested measures to address them. However, those measures were not being implemented effectively.<\/p>\n
He said the consequences were now becoming evident. According to him, five lakh Hindu girls had fallen victim to Love Jihad, the proportion of Hindus in the population was steadily declining, several social evils had become entrenched, religious conversions were taking place at a rapid pace, and the number of madrasas and churches was increasing.<\/p>\n
The seminar was organised at Vatsalya Seva Sadan, Sector 7, Rohini, Delhi.<\/p>\n
The auditorium remained in pin-drop silence throughout Dr. Deodhar’s address. Speaking to a packed gathering, he also actively involved members of the audience in the discussion and inspired them through his message.<\/p>\n
He asserted that Hindus must adopt a more assertive approach to safeguarding Hindutva. It was equally important to overcome the darkness of confusion, uncertainty and contradictions prevailing in society. He emphasised the need to educate daughters with the right values, ensure their safety and provide them with quality education.<\/p>\n
The essence of his address was that those who speak for Hindu interests will ultimately lead the country.<\/p>\n
Chetna President, internationally acclaimed poet and well-known national anchor Rajesh Chetan conducted the programme impressively. He observed that this was a time when awakening among Hindus had become imperative. Ironically, he said, Hindus were unable to awaken themselves and someone from outside had to come forward to inspire and motivate them.<\/p>\n
The dignified presence of former MLA Jai Bhagwan Aggarwal added to the stature of the programme and boosted the morale of the gathering.<\/p>\n
Another major attraction of the event was a unique devotional musical presentation by renowned bhajan singer Pandit Avinash Advait, featuring what was described as Bhajan Clubbing.<\/p>\n
Beginning with prayers to Lord Shri Ram, Pandit Advait took the audience on a devotional journey through bhajans dedicated to Mata Sita, Lord Hanuman, Shri Radha, Lord Krishna, Shri Khatu Shyam Ji, Shri Balaji, the Saptarishis, Mata Parvati and Lord Shiva. For hours, his mesmerising performance created an atmosphere of deep devotion, with the audience becoming increasingly immersed in the spiritual experience.<\/p>\n
He subsequently shifted the musical presentation towards patriotism and love for the nation, leaving everyone in the auditorium deeply moved and overwhelmed with emotion.<\/p>\n
At the conclusion of the seminar, the distinguished guests and participants enthusiastically announced generous financial contributions towards Dr. Sunil Vishwanath Deodhar’s national missions, \u2018My Home India\u2019 and \u2018Sapnon Se Apnon Tak\u2019.<\/p>\n
