Bhiwani. Continuing its commitment to providing quality healthcare to the underprivileged, Bhiwani Parivar Maitri Sangh (BPMS) once again witnessed a significant turnout at its 44th Free Eye and Medical Camp. Experienced doctors from Delhi\u2019s Venu Eye Hospital and Research Centre examined 150 patients, of whom 20 were selected for cataract surgery with lens implantation.<\/p>\n
Senior doctors from the renowned Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute and Research Centre, Delhi, conducted oral examinations of 27 patients suspected of having cancer, with one patient being referred for further evaluation. Two patients also underwent Pap tests.<\/p>\n
The free camp was organised at Shri Krishna Pranami Mandir from 9 am to 1 pm in the presence and support of the family of Raj Kumar Garg, son of senior philanthropists Late Hariram Kasera and Late Rameti Devi Kasera, in their pious memory.<\/p>\n
Speaking on the occasion, BPMS President, renowned international poet and a pioneer in introducing new trends in anchoring, Rajesh Chetan, said that the organisation was steadily moving towards the goal with which it was founded and setting new milestones in the field of social service.<\/p>\n
He said that through 43 monthly camps, BPMS had provided free medical and healthcare facilities to thousands of poor and needy eye patients, creating a significant record of service. Starting its journey from Bhiwani, popularly known as Chhoti Kashi, the organisation has now emerged as one of the leading social service organisations in North India.<\/p>\n
Rajesh Chetan said that the mission of Bhiwani Parivar Maitri Sangh had now reached not only different parts of the country but also overseas.<\/p>\n
He added that, as part of its expansion plans, new service centres in different cities would be announced shortly. Social workers from Bhiwani as well as various parts of the country have expressed their willingness to contribute actively to the BPMS mission, he said.<\/p>\n
Another Mission for the Needy<\/p>\n
Rajesh Chetan further informed that BPMS has launched another initiative in Bhiwani for the benefit of underprivileged people. Under this initiative, unused household items that are lying idle in homes are collected and distributed among poor and needy families.<\/p>\n
The campaign carries the theme \u201cYour Trash Is Our Treasure.\u201d Affluent and well-off families may also contribute new items to the initiative, which are subsequently distributed among those in need.<\/p>\n
Rajesh Chetan said that a similar initiative, \u2018Goonj\u2019, is already being run in Delhi, and a Goonj collection centre will soon be opened in Bhiwani.<\/p>\n
