Gurugram: The Faculty of Agricultural Sciences at SGT University, Gurugram, in collaboration with the Fertiliser Association of India\u2013Northern Region (FAI-NR), successfully organised a fertilizer orientation programme on \u201cFertilizer Sector: Policies, Technologies, Management and Opportunities\u201d at the university campus.<\/p>\n
Sponsored by Krishak Bharati Cooperative Limited (KRIBHCO), the programme aimed to strengthen industry\u2013academia interaction by providing participants with insights into the contemporary fertilizer sector, technological advancements, regulatory frameworks, marketing and logistics, soil health management, supply chain operations, and emerging career opportunities.<\/p>\n
The programme was graced by Dr. Suresh Kumar Chaudhary, Director General, Fertiliser Association of India, New Delhi, as the Chief Guest.<\/p>\n
During the inaugural session, Dr. Pooja Pant, Dean, Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, SGT University, delivered the welcome address. Dr. D. S. Yadav, Director (Publications and Public Relations), FAI, New Delhi, introduced the programme, while Prof. B. J. Rao, Vice Chancellor, SGT University, delivered the inaugural address.<\/p>\n
The programme witnessed participation from experts and professionals representing leading organisations in the fertilizer sector, including Dr. Tarunendu Singh, IFFCO; Dr. D. S. Yadav, FAI; Dr. Santosh Chandra Bhatt, CFQC&TI, Faridabad; Ajay Setia, Yara Fertilisers; Sanjay Kumar, HURL; Umakant Tripathi, GSFC; and Shailendra Singh, KRIBHCO.<\/p>\n
The discussions covered a wide range of topics, including the current structure and functioning of the fertilizer sector, nano-fertilizers and emerging technologies, legal and regulatory aspects of fertilizer trade, marketing and logistics, soil health, supply chain management, and career and employment opportunities in the sector.<\/p>\n
The interactive nature of the programme enabled students and faculty members to connect their classroom learning with real-world industry practices. Direct interaction with industry experts also helped students develop a deeper understanding of the evolving agricultural and fertilizer sectors and the professional opportunities emerging within them.<\/p>\n

The successful organisation of the programme reaffirmed SGT University\u2019s commitment to meaningful industry\u2013academia collaboration and experiential learning. It also provided students with an opportunity to engage directly with industry professionals and gain practical insights into one of the key sectors influencing agricultural productivity, soil health and sustainable farming.<\/p>\n
