Bhiwani, 15 July : A large number of patients attended the 42nd Free Eye and Medical Camp organised by Bhiwani Parivar Maitri Sangh (BPMS) with the support of the Kokra family in memory of noted social worker and body donor Atmaram Kokra.<\/p>\n
The camp was held from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Shri Krishna Pranami Mandir. A team of senior doctors from Delhi\u2019s renowned Venu Eye Hospital & Research Centre conducted free eye examinations for 170 patients. After screening, 30 patients were selected for lens implantation surgery.<\/p>\n
A medical team from the country\u2019s reputed Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute & Research Centre also examined patients for possible cancer-related conditions as well as other ailments. During the camp, 32 patients underwent throat examinations, 6 patients received pre-cancer tests, and 16 women underwent Pap smear tests. One patient was referred to Rajiv Gandhi Hospital for further treatment.<\/p>\n
Speaking on the occasion, Rajesh Chetan, President of BPMS, a well-known international poet and prominent anchoring personality, said that BPMS has emerged as one of North India\u2019s leading social and Sanatani organisations. He noted that the organisation has been continuously engaged in public welfare and in providing free medical assistance to poor and needy patients for many years.<\/p>\n
He said that BPMS has organised free eye and medical camps for 41 consecutive months, helping thousands of underprivileged patients suffering from eye disorders, cancer-related conditions and general illnesses.<\/p>\n
Rajesh Chetan further announced that the organisation is preparing to significantly expand the scope of its social service activities in the near future. He said that several prominent social workers from Bhiwani, across Haryana and from Delhi are joining BPMS every day to contribute to the mission of serving the poor and needy free of cost.<\/p>\n
He reiterated that BPMS bears all expenses for patients selected for eye surgery, including travel to and from Delhi, meals, spectacles and a 15-day supply of medicines. Cancer patients are also provided free treatment through Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute & Research Centre.<\/p>\n
